Hamburg Aviation, das ist das Luftfahrtcluster der Metropolregion Hamburg - einer der weltweit bedeutendsten Standorte der zivilen Luftfahrtindustrie. Insgesamt arbeiten hier mehr als 40.000 hochqualifizierte Fachkräfte an der Zukunft des Fliegens.

Neben den beiden Branchenriesen Airbus und Lufthansa Technik sowie dem Flughafen Hamburg tragen über 300 kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen sowie vielfältige technologisch-wissenschaftliche Institutionen zum Know-how bei.

Um ihren Standort zu fördern, haben sich Unternehmen, Hochschulen, Verbände, Wirtschaftsbehörde und weitere Partner zum Cluster Hamburg Aviation zusammengeschlossen.

Gemeinsam verfolgen sie ein Ziel: mit vernetzter Forschung und Entwicklung hochwertige Produkte und Dienstleistungen für die Luftfahrt der Zukunft auf den Markt zu bringen, die gut für Passagiere sind und Maßstäbe in Sachen Ressourcenschutz setzen.

In Hamburg hat Airbus seine Werkshallen, in denen alleTypen der A320 Familie gebaut und die Sektionsmontage, Innenausstattung und Lackierung der A380 durchgeführt wird. Auch am Bau des neuen Langstreckenfliegers A350 ist das Werk an der Elbe maßgeblich beteiligt.

Die Lufthansa Technik AG hat in Hamburg ihren Firmensitz. Sie ist der weltweit führende Anbieter für die Wartung, Reparatur und Überholung von Flugzeugen (MRO). Über 750 Unternehmen rund um den Globus vertrauen auf den Service der Techniker der Kranich-Linie.

Der Hamburg Airport schließlich ist nicht nur einer der dienstältesten Flughäfen, der noch an seinem ursprünglichen Standort betrieben wird, sondern auch einer der modernsten. Mehr als 13.5 Millionen Passagiere starten und landen hier pro Jahr.

Hinzu kommen über 300 kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen (KMU), die sich als Zulieferer und Dienstleister um die drei großen Unternehmen angesiedelt haben. Vertreten werden viele von ihnen durch die beiden Verbände Hanse-Aerospace e.V. und HECAS e.V. Zusätzlich bereichert wird die Luftfahrt in Hamburg durch exzellente Lehr- und Ausbildungsinstitute sowie Forschungseinrichtungen.

Hamburg is home to the Airbus factory workshops where the entire A320 family of aircraft is constructed and where the section assembly, interior fitting and painting of the A380 take place. The factory on the banks of the Elbe also plays a significant role in the construction of the new long-haul A350.

Lufthansa Technik AG has its headquarters in Hamburg. The company is the world’s leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO). More than 750 companies around the world rely on Lufthansa’s technicians.

Hamburg Airport is, at the end of the day, not only the oldest airport in the world to still be based at its original location; it is also one of the world’s most modern airports. More than 13.5 million passengers take-off and land here every year.
