The Hannover International Summer School of Economics and Management (HISSEMA) is in its eleventh year of operation taking place from July 8th to August 23th. It is conducted completely in English. Up to now, over 200 exchange students have participated in the HISSEMA.
International students receive the chance to gain academic experience in Germany by attending English lectures in Economics and Business Administration while being able to collect course credits. The HISSEMA is also attended by German students who attain regular LUH-credits.
During the HISSEMA three lectures with 30 semester periods per week will be offered. Students passing each course will receive 4 European Credits (ECTS) per class.
Business Administration
Within the "Business Administration" module, we will offer the course "International Finance" (held by Dipl.-Ök. Carmen Kislat, Dr. Tobias Basse and Dipl.Ök. Martin Schmelzle).It is necessary to pass a final exam to achieve credit points. Topics will include:

Within the "Economics" module, we will offer the course "The German Economy". It is necessary to pass a final exam to achieve credit points. The course will presumably consist of the following parts:
The German Labor Market (Dipl.-Ök. Philip Yang)
The European Union (Dipl.-Vw. Wolf-Dieter Berkholz)
The Welfare State (Dr. Tobias König)
German Culture, Business and Language Class
The course will provide basic German language skills as well as insights in German culture and history. Four excursions to leading German companies and institutions give insights into German business culture. Students are required to make presentations, to prepare case studies, and to submit homework referring to aspects of the cultural, economic political, and educational systems of Germany.
