Ruhr Museum

Das Ruhr Museum befindet sich in der ehemaligen Kohlenwäsche auf dem Welterbe Zollverein. Als Regionalmuseum neuen Typus zeigt es in seiner Dauerausstellung die gesamte Natur- und Kulturgeschichte des Ruhrgebietes. Es versteht sich nicht als klassisches Industriemuseum, sondern als Gedächtnis und Schaufenster der neuen Metropole Ruhr.

The Ruhr Museum is situated in the former Coal Washing Plant at the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein. The Ruhr Museum is not an industrial museum, but a new type of regional museum. It is the historic memory of and the window for the new Ruhr Metropolis. Its permanent exhibition presents the natural and cultural history of the region from its beginnings up to the present.
