The name stØrpunkt sums up art with a mind of its own, which challenges the viewer and breaks provocatively the mold. What fascinates is the beautiful bizarre, the hidden and the unpleasant. The artistic goal: stimulating thought processes and in no way just pleasing the eye. The gallery represents national and international positions of contemporary artists, whose works not only scratch the surface of a topic, but also proclaim a critical approach. New media, performance and conceptual rudiments equally find a creative platform in the gallery as classical painting and sculpture.

In a six-week alternation, various exhibitions are held. The annual THEMED COMPETITION, which is always under, a public dialogue promoting motto, encourages artists from all over the world to participate. In addition, the format HALF A POUND OF ART offers, once a year, small-sized artworks the opportunity to free themselves from the shadow of their imposing competitors and to delight a broad audience with high-quality elaboration.

Der Name stØrpunkt steht für Kunst mit Ecken und Kanten, welche den Betrachter herausfordert und provokativ neue Wege geht. Das, was fasziniert, ist das Bizarre, das Verborgene und das Unangenehme. Das künstlerische Ziel: Gedankenprozesse anregen und keineswegs nur gefallen. Die Galerie vertritt nationale und internationale Positionen zeitgenössischer Künstler, deren Werke nicht nur an der Oberfläche einer Thematik kratzen, sondern eine kritische Herangehensweise proklamieren. Neue Medien, Performance und konzeptuelle Ansätze finden in der Galerie ebenso eine kreative Plattform wie Malerei und Skulptur.

In einem sechswöchigen Wechsel werden facettenreiche Ausstellungen veranstaltet. Hervorzuheben ist der alljährlich stattfindende THEMENWETTBEWERB, welcher jeweils unter einem den Diskurs beflügelnden Motto steht und Künstler aus aller Welt zur Teilnahme anregt. Zudem bietet das Format HALF A POUND OF ART einmal im Jahr kleinformatigen Arbeiten die Gelegenheit sich aus dem Schatten ihrer imposanten Konkurrenten zu befreien und ein breites Publikum mit einer qualitativ hochwertigen Ausarbeitung zu begeistern.
