Biohof Beckers - Tiller Schnuckenschäferei

Biohof Beckers focuses on preserving and breeding White-horned Heath sheep, a European breed threatened by extinction. Around 300 animals are raised on open pastures, and certified as organic by ABCERT.

Biohof Beckers is also dedicated to the conservation of sensitive ecological systems of the East Frisian landscape such as Wallhecken hedge banks and their specific local flora and fauna.

Endeavors include:

The Biotop Project: In 2004, Biohof Beckers initiated the creation of a wetlands area and the restoration and creation of hedge banks.

The Bog Project: In 2014, Biohof Beckers began using sheep to restore a nearly untouched bog, considered a natural monument.


Biohof Beckers welcomes individuals interested in helping at the farm via wwoof.de (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). Applications to volunteer at the farm must be submitted with CV and photo via wwoof.de. (Farm #455)


Products and Services:
Breeding: Provision of high quality, judge-approved rams and ewes with consultation.

Food Products: Gourmet-quality meat (variety of cuts and minced), salami (100% sheep), bratwurst (100% sheep).

*Biohof Beckers is currently partnered with several gourmet restaurants, and welcomes interested restaurant or private clientele.

Animal Products: Fleeces (all white, in varying wool lengths), horns, decorative skulls.

Additional Products: High quality, organic hay and haylage for sheep and horses.
