Deutsches Museum für Immigration

Das Deutsche Museum für Immigration (DMI) will allen Besuchern die lange Geschichte der Einwanderung nach Deutschland und die Bedeutung der vielfältigen Einflüsse auf den (kulturellen und wirtschaftlichen) Reichtum Deutschlands auf interaktive Weise näherbringen.

Derzeit wird nach Räumlichkeiten für die Umsetzung einer ersten Ausstellung in Berlin gesucht.
Inzwischen können einige der Archivmaterialien hier auf Facebook durchstöbert werden. Außerdem gibt es alle Informationen über aktuelle Entwicklungen, Veranstaltungen und Möglichkeiten, wie jeder sich am Wachstum des DMI beteiligen kann.

Das Museumsprojekt basiert auf einer privaten Initiative und wird ehrenamtlich geführt. Es ist somit auf die Unterstützung von Freiwilligen und Spendern angewiesen - angefangen mit Euch, der Facebook-Community!

Wir sammeln ständig Material für unser Archiv, seien dies Berichte von persönlichen Erfahrungen oder Fotos und andere Gegenstände, die von der Einwanderung nach und der Integration in Deutschland erzählen.
Je mehr Menschen sich mit ihren Geschichten beteiligen, desto bunter wird die dargestellte Vielfalt unserer Gesellschaft in Deutschland.

Gemeinsam können wir eine lebendige Gemeinschaft erschaffen und bald auch die Realisierung erster Ausstellungen in Berlin und anderswo.

The German Museum for Immigration (DMI) aims to interactively present its visitors with Germany's long history of immigration and the multiple ways in which it influenced the (economical and cultural) richness of current times.

While the search for a home for the museum is still on-going in Berlin, visitors can already view some of the archive material here on this page.
All information about the most current developments, events and possibilities to become involved in the development of the museum project are also posted here.

The German Museum for Immigration is a private initiative and solely run on an honorary basis. It therefore completely depends on the engagement and contributions of volunteers - beginning with you, the Facebook Community!

We are always looking for personal stories, photos or other items, which tell about the experience of coming to Germany and becoming integrated.
The more of your stories you share, the more colourful and diversified the illustration of all of whom and what that makes the German society will become.

Together, we can create a lively community and surely soon also the first actual exhiibitions in Berlin and elsewhere.
