European Citizen Initiative of Vegans for the Protection of the Environment

Short Summary
Welcome to the European Citizen Initiative of Vegans for the Protection of the Environment (ECIVPE) facebook page. The ECIVPE is a new initiative based on the right for European Citizens Initiative funded in the treaty of the European Union Article 11.
This instrument empowers the people to initiate a proposal for new legislation and granted by gathering one million signatures. We believe that the people who have chosen a vegan ideology and life style have done so because of the understanding of the importance that lies in the protection of our environment for the survival of our future generations.
Therefore, we call on those exact individuals that have internalized this deep understanding to enumerate a base of at least one million people to give a signature vote to initiate the process of a new legislation proposal in the field of the protection of animals, the environment and therefore of human health.
The focus of the ECIVPE page is to create a platform for the communication between the committee of the ECIVPE and the signatory members. The page will be used to inform of new initiatives, announcements of schedules of processes, and of instruments being used by the ECIVPE. In this page the ECIVPE will also post explanatory information regarding the background of the initiatives and the importance of the different causes as well as the actual technicalities of the procedures.
