The increasing energy demand, the limited fossil energy sources and the concerns about global warming call for a tremendous change in energy systems. The Center of Competence Power Systems of the Future deals with this problematic in order to find a reliable and sustainable solution.
The project 'theEIland' will tackle one particular aspect of this issue: the challenges of utilizing renewable energies in island-grids. This hands-on project, funded by the TUM Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is being coordinated at the Institute of Renewable and Substainable Energy Systems under the supervision of Prof. Hamacher.
Within this project, the students have an opportunity to work independently or in teams. The participation at 'theEIland' can be acknowledged as a:
-Bachelor's Thesis or Internship (Bachelor EI)
-Master's Thesis or Research Internship (Master EI), or
-Master's Thesis or Research Internship (MSPE).
The participation of students from other faculties is subject to prior approval by the project coordinators.
The communication during the project will be in English.
