Happy Baristas

The world of coffee doesn’t have to be black and bitter. It’s exciting; full of colour and bursting with flavour!

Happy Baristas is a multi-roaster cafe, meaning that we serve specialty coffee beans from the best roasters from all over the world. We constantly receive coffee samples, but only a small number of these meet our select criteria. What you find on rotation on our bar and on our retail shelves is the coffee that we personally enjoy and want you to enjoy too.

We don’t believe there is only one right way to drink coffee. We serve coffee in many ways.
As the key ingredient in our ‘signature drinks’ we seek to combine the unusual and explore the unknown. Our menu changes regularly, reflecting this creativity and revealing our childlike curiosity and eagerness to play.

Our bar features the very best available technology in the industry. We work on a 3-group Black Eagle Victoria Arduino espresso machine with built in scales, allowing us to be fast, efficient, and precise with every drink we make. The Mahlkönig EK43 grinder dominates the brew bar. It helps us to push the extraction of filter coffees higher, making them more flavoursome while still retaining the clarity of the brew. Water is treated by the latest technology reverse osmosis system, which we check and adjust on a daily basis.

All of our drinks are made in house. You won’t find any bottled drinks in the shop. We have an infrastructure of taps, pipes and cooling systems for all our drinks including our rooibos ice tea and lemonade, as well as for our nitro cold brew coffee and tea.

You may have noticed the interior of our café differs a little from the typical image of a specialty coffee shop. We wanted to stay away from brick walls and repurposed timber in order to make something new, modern, and playful — yet still cosy and welcoming.

And who are the Happy Baristas? We have been in the coffee industry for some time now. Marian has worked in the top cafés of Berlin, bears the title of Slovak Barista Champion for years 2013 and 2014, and most recently was awarded third place in the German Aeropress Championship 2015. Roland from South Africa founded and ran one of the best cafés in the Czech Republic and helped to introduce specialty coffee to people of Prague.
