Invented in the 1970s by German inventors Werner Kraus and Erhard Hößle, the IMAGO Camera takes life-size portraits of people on a special black and white direct positive paper. Hidden in an archive in Munich and almost forgotten for 25 years the camera was rediscovered in 2004.
Its unique photography technique, based on a special lens conceived by Werner Kraus, enable the IMAGO Camera to take real, undistorted 1 to 1 portraits of people.
These "imagograms" are unlike anything you've ever seen before. Now, for the first time since 30 years, the camera is permanently based in Berlin Kreuzberg and welcomes you to take a picture of yourself.
