International Security Association - ISA

ISA is an official Swiss Non-Profit Association, with the main subject the "promotion of science and research in the field of security" (Förderung von Wissenschaft und Forschung im Bereich Sicherheit).

Our target it isn't the membership fees. We have plans which are completely FREE of charge.
Our only target is to improve the level of the private sector, making private sector in every country to be accepted and respected equally with the public sector.
Because, if the criteria and the education are equal with public sector's, if the knowledge and the access to education is open to the private sector, if every police officer inside in the uniform of a security guard can see a serious partner, if the society respects highly the personality and the knowledge of the next door security officer as they do for a police officer, ......then crime will be way smaller, because many serious security professionals will replace the "security guards" who selected this profession as a temporary solution for living and not for a career job.
Our profession needs Security Operatives with high-level of knowledge, with high-level of self-respect and (then) higher level of income.

Unfortunately, most of the governments around the world refusing to invest in the education of this so useful profession for the public safety (do not forget that maybe the next-door security officer is paid by a security company (which is a private corporation), but he/she will provide his/her services i.e. in a football stadium, or in a Bank, or in a Mall/shopping center, or in Metro/Train Station which maybe the "protected area" is also private (or not) but millions of civilians entering every single day.

Is impossible to ignore the contribution of the Security Operatives to the public safety and is absolutely ridiculous, to not exist governmental schools for security officers, but only private workshops/schools to educate those that they have to be able to support the stability of our society.

If the public safety is an issue which does not need governmental investment and administration, then maybe the Police and Army Academies must be private corporations.

WE do support private schools and we believe that many times they can provide higher quality than many public schools, but not for the "base of the pyramid" of the security industry.
This must be a governmental school for two basic reasons:

1. Because the National Security Agency of every country must be sure that security officers have the knowledge and all they are SWORN-OFFICERS.
Maybe their future employer will be a private corporation (or ...not?!), but i.e. to not face charges if they get "a tip" (when a Police Officer WILL go to prison for something like this), in order to allow the entrance to someone without to pass full control and this probably can expose in fatal danger all citizens inside the specific installation (you need something more to mention?).

2. The Security Officers MUST be renamed to Security Enforcement Officers and carry a firearm. Only like this can be EFFECTIVE!
And I'm asking, HOW the governments will allow to non-professional Security Guards (those they temporarily occupied in this job), with a license (not in all countries exist a license) which is the result of a certificate a private "school" provided to "a poor unemployed guy" to get a job for living, to CARRY A FULLY LOADED FIREARM?
This can be more dangerous for the public than a possible criminal action.

So? What most of the governments do? "They pretend there is no need to exist Security Industry and they are supported by the leadership of their law enforcement, in order to not accept that law enforcement is not able to PREVENT a criminal action.

Of course and Police do an amazing job around the world, but crime and terrorism are running so fast, that society needs EVERY LAWFUL CONTRIBUTION in order to provide stability and safety to the people. To our children, to our families, when they are at home, when they walk in the streets and when they go to school or for shopping.

You DO have the Security Industry, ready to stand next to law enforcement and together to fight to the same direction, especially against organized crime and terrorism, but not like "strangers".
IF Security Officers are "produced" by the Police Academies and are also sworn, then "we are talking about the same family".
One in the public sector to serve and protect the public (also from drugs, gangs, and a million more crimes) and the other one in the private sector to serve and protect private facilities and not only and the people in and around it, for crimes against lives and properties, with direct communication in emergency with the police's command and control centers.

Just stop being ignorant and for God's sake take the education of the Security Officers under your direct command.
Let Police Academies extend their facilities, hire more instructors, teachers, and lecturers and educate also Security Officers.

ISA will never stop stating that WE DO have the plan for the upgrade of ALL lawful forces and the Authorities together with Security Industry, can produce amazing results.

You see? How in a page of a social media can ISA suggest the reduction of many human losses and the progress of a profession with millions of officers around the world?

We are NOT afraid someone to "copy" our idea and making it happen in a country. We pray for it.
