My journey in natural health began without me fully realizing it. At age 14, my uncle and grandmother became some of Young Living's first members. They began using oils to treat my uncle's chronic issues, some of which were quite severe. My grandmother always believed in the power of plants and natural medicines, so using essential oils was almost instinctual for her. In a short period, my uncle was healed of many of his complaints and the others greatly alleviated. The rest of our family quickly caught on to the excitement and benefit of essential oils.
I was only 14 and not suffering from anything major myself, so it wasn't until many years later that I came to understand the wonderful prospect of essential oils and natural health.

In 2003 I attended massage therapy school where once again I would be introduced to another type of healing. Our courses covered much more than bodywork and I quickly fell in love with the Nutrition and Natural Health class. The healing powers of foods, plants and even water were laid out in front of me...and I couldn't get enough. After completing massage therapy school I decided to further my studies in natural health. leading me to a Diploma in Holistic Health Practice.

Working as a Massage Therapist, I've used essential oils on my clients to relax their minds and bodies and to release tension in their muscles. Essential oils are a natural component of massage therapy, but it was the other stories of everyday use, and even specific use, that inspired me. Clients told of maintaining health after a thyroidectomy, curing leukoplakia, managing depression, controlling their child's ADD, and relief from migraines, to name a few. How wonderful to be free of pharmaceuticals and to be proactive in your own health and wellness and not worry about side effects?

I began by replacing everyday products like facial cleanser, toothpaste and deodorant with homemade versions complete with various essential oils. Instead of reaching for Advil when I had a headache, I used Lavender or Peppermint essential oil. When I had a toothache I used Clove. The more I experimented with oils, the more I grew to love them and the healthier I became. Essential oils became the ruler of my medicine cabinet.

I have used numerous different brands of essential oils, mostly buying whatever was available where I lived. As I became more "ingredient aware" with the products I consume and use, I began doing my own research into my favorite brands of essential oils to see which was truly the most pure. I was appalled by what I found! Many top brands continuously test positive for synthetic additives in 3rd party testing. These synthetic compounds greatly affect the efficacy of an oil, yet some brands are still sold at ridiculously high prices and claim to be "100% pure.". The one brand that is consistent in quality is Young Living. After doing additional research into the company's foundation, policies, procedures and benefits, it was clear to me that Young Living is a company to support. And if I was going to buy and use the products regularly, not just in my business, but in my home, then why not become a distributor and spread the joy of essential oils and more? In helping the company I am helping myself and countless others. Decision made!

My journey in natural health is an ongoing one and I'm always eager to learn and share my knowledge. As a Massage Therapist and Holistic Health Coach, my passion is working with clients to restore health and wellness using traditions often long forgotten, but most beneficial. Through nutrition, body/mind work, and natural medicines like essential oils and homeopathics, true health is absolutely achievable!
