Die JULIA STOSCHEK COLLECTION ist eine internationale private Sammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst mit dem Fokus auf zeitbasierten Medien. Die 2007 eröffnete Sammlung beinhaltet schwerpunktmäßig Videoarbeiten, Installationen und Fotografien. Das Konzept sieht vor in jährlich wechselnden Ausstellungen und deren Publikationen die verschiedenen Aspekte der Sammlung zu präsentieren, dokumentieren und der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

Dabei stellen die wissenschaftliche Ausarbeitung der Inhalte, das Aufzeigen kunsthistorischer Referenzen innerhalb der Sammlung und das Offenlegen von Bezügen zwischen den einzelnen Werken wesentliche Schwerpunkte dar.

Erweiterung und Ergänzung des Sammlungsbestandes, restauratorische und konservatorische Betreuung sind darüber hinaus zentrale Punkte der Sammlungstätigkeit. Zur öffentlichen Präsentation stehen der JULIA STOSCHEK COLLECTION im Düsseldorfer Sammlungsgebäude zwei Ausstellungsgeschosse mit insgesamt 2500 qm zur Verfügung.

Die Ausrichtung des Programms schließt nicht nur die Präsentation des eigenen Bestands, sondern auch kooperative Projekte mit anderen internationalen Institutionen, Kuratoren oder Künstlern mit ein.

The JULIA STOSCHEK COLLECTION is an international private collection of contemporary art with a focus on time-based media art. The collection opened in 2007 and comprises installations, videos, photographs, paintings and sculptures. Each year a different exhibition presents, documents and makes available to the public different aspects of the collection.

Key areas of focus include presenting academic analyses of the content of the works, highlighting art-historical references within the collection and revealing connections between individual works.

Expanding the collection, and restoration and conservation work are also central to the collection’s ongoing activities. At its location in Duesseldorf, the JULIA STOSCHEK COLLECTION has two exhibition floors with a total of 2,500 m2 available for its public shows.

In addition to presenting its own work, the collection’s programme also includes cooperative projects with other international institutions, curators and artists.
