Katakomben-Berlin

The „brand new“ Katakomben has arrived!
We are a team of five artists (Frank Kraft, Felix Häckell, Uwe Mayer, Stefan Sing and Josh Dyffort), who have taken it upon ourselves to rent, renovate, and carry the financial risks of the Katakomben. our goal is to maintain this renowned training area, so that performing artists have a place in Berlin to develop their skills via workshops, networking, and general overall exchange and inspiration with the other artists.

Important for us is to keep the financial costs of the Katakomben to an absolute minimal.
Hence, there will no longer be personnel at the desk and no more hourly rates available.
We want to keep the Katakomben clean and pleasant. this is why we have put so much effort in all the new renovations and also why anyone caught destroying the space
will be severely reprimanded.
We also want that the Katakomben can maintain itself financially; therefore only people who have paid the fees are allowed to use the space, no exceptions, ever.

Our interest in the Katakomben is NOT to make a profit from our investments.
We intend to take any and all excess money that the Katakomben may eventually bring in to reinvest in further renovations for the betterment of all and/or to make the prices for its members even lower.
So far we have already invested in a new floor complete with soundproofing insulation, painted the walls and even the ceilings gleaming white, insulated the heater and added a lot of mirrors.

For legislative reasons we have created the cooperative „ Katakomben e.V.“ all of you have to become members for a yearly fee of 10€. Not til then training is possible.
By becoming a member you are allotted a discount for events and workshops, and we are given a little bit of money for all the necessary renovation costs.

the rooms
The Katakomben is 500qm which can then be separated via curtains into 9 independent training areas. we have four rigging-points for aerial-work. besides the large main room, there is also a private 50qm „yoga room“, and also another 20qm room with a low ceiling.
Also inclusive in the main room is a kitchen.
All rooms are available for training, the giving and taking of workshops, and for rent (hourly or daily).

prices
To be allowed to train you have to become a member of the „Katakomben e.V.“. this will cost you 10€ a year
-12 month contract the monthly flat rate is 60€ (payments must be done at least quarterly)
-3 month or more contract the monthly flat rate is 75€ (payments must be done at least one month in advance)
-1 month fee is 90€
-daily rate is 5€
-price for workshops and exclusive rentals depends on enquiry

We also maintain the right to change the price system if need be for all who are not previously under a signed contract.
