The kunstort ELEVEN artspace "art is ²Residence" is an international residency program for artists - located in Starzach-Börstingen, Germany. It is a self-administrated non-profit organisation.
kunstort ELEVEN artspace wants to create an environment for inspiration – a place for artists where they can concentrate on their work, can experiment and play. Artists of all disciplines can apply for residencies from one to three months each to live and work together - and encounter the rural region artistically. Interaction and intervention between art and the locality in which it is practiced is a significant aspect of the project.
kunstort ELEVEN artspace is an artistic initiative in a rural location which provides a forum for all artistic disciplines and interdisciplinary work, encouraging encounters with contemporary art forms outside of urban cultural centres.
kunstort ELEVEN artspace is based in a former vocational secondary school in Börstingen which has been in the process of being transformed into a location dedicated to Art and Culture. The village of Börstingen (with 750 inhabitants) is part of the community of Starzach and situated in the Upper Neckar Valley between Rottenburg and Horb in the rural environment between from the larger cultural centres of Tübingen and Stuttgart.
