Limetree Records

The Dutch jazz aficionado Ton Molkenboer, who untimely passed away in 1994, was the initial founder of the Limetree label in 1980. The label released albums by Monty Alexander, Hank Jones, John Hicks, Kenny Drew, Cedar Walton, Toots Thielemans, Ben Webster, Kirk Lightsey, Chet Baker and a lot of Dutch musicians. The catalog also contained classical music
recordings such as the Dutch pianist Martyn van den Hoek who won the International Franz Liszt Competition.
The label has been reactivated in 2012 with the double album "Momentum" by the Bill Evans Trio and soon "Sunday Night" by the Monty Alexander Quartet.
