Lontzen

Lontzen is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Liège. On January 1, 2006 Lontzen had a total population of 5,071. The total area is 28.73 km² which gives a population density of 177 inhabitants per km².The municipality consists of the following sub-municipalities: Lontzen proper, Herbestal, and Walhorn.In the 19th century, a Low Franconian dialect was widely spoken in Lontzen.
