Uppsala Reggae Festival är Skandinaviens första och största renodlade reggaefestival och lockar inbitna reggae fans från hela norden, men även gäster från när och fjärran, med ett allmänt musikintresse.
Uppsala Reggae Festival är en festival med öppen och vänlig stämning och med en blandning av människor även när det gäller åldrar.
I samband med den första Uppsala Reggae Festival 2001 fick av SVT benämningen ”Skandinaviens Reggaemecka” och som då var och fortfarande är den största i norden och har blivit en av dem kvalitativt bästa reggae festivaler i Europa.

Den tredje upplagan av Uppsala Reggae Festival tilldelades Sveriges Radios kulturpris och den sjunde festivalen kunde stolt presentera den största reggae-lineup som någonsin spelat i Skandinavien.

URF var en årlig tradition i Uppsala mellan åren 2001 och 2011 innan den flyttades till Furuviksparken strax utanför Gävle 2012 och 2013.
Den saknade festivalen återvände till hemstaden sommaren 2017. URF 2017 var ett kärt återseende och överskred alla förväntningar. 2018 års upplaga blir en tvådagars festival och hålls som vanligt på KAP.

Förutom ett stort antal internationella akter har Uppsala flertalet gånger bjudit på spelningar med bästa inom svenska reggae som exempelvis Kapten Röd, Kalle Baah, Natural Way, Nazarenens, Peps Persson, Papa Dee, Million Stylez, Syster Sol, Chilly & Leafy, Rootvälta, Svenska Akademin, P. Danielsa & Makreka, Governor Andy, The Cigarres, Ras Udo, Daddy Boastin, Desmond Foster, Storsien, Zoro & DJ Clara, Meditative Sounds, Topaz Sound, Trinity Sound, KBC, King Solomon Sound, Majestic Vibes och Roots Defenders med flera.
Reggae har utvecklats hela tiden med nya influenser och genrer och Uppsala Reggae Festival satsar alltid på att ha bredd och tilltala alla människor, fast med tyngdpunkt på roots reggae.

Uppsala Reggae Festival is Scandinavia's first and largest pure reggae festival and attracts hardcore reggae fans from all over the North, but also guests from near and far, with a general interest in music.
Uppsala Reggae Festival is a festival with an open and friendly atmosphere with a mix of people even when it comes to age.
In connection with the first Uppsala Reggae Festival 2001, national TV put the epithet "Scandinavias Reggae Mecca" on the festival and it was then and still is the largest in the Nordic countries and has become one of the qualitatively best reggae festivals in Europe.

The third edition of Uppsala Reggae Festival was awarded to Swedish Radio's Culture and the seventh festival proudly announced the biggest reggae lineup that ever played in Scandinavia.
2006 the founder and reggae enthusiast of festival, Yared Tekeste was elected man of the Year in the region Uppland.
URF 2017 was welcomed back with a huge amount of love and the comeback exceeded all expectations. Next year’s edition will be held at KAP per usual and it will be a two-day festival. URF, which is a highly-appreciated event, became an annual tradition in Uppsala from 2001 to 2011, when it was later moved to Furuvik Park just outside of Gävle in 2012 and 2013.
