The “Partnership for Innovation, Education and Research” (PIER) stands for the strong partnership between Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) and Universität Hamburg. The graduate school is jointly funded by DESY, Universität Hamburg and the Helmholtz Association.
