PLRI MedAppLab

The mHealth research group PLRI MedAppLab of the Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics at Hannover Medical School was founded in early 2012 motivated by the fact that there is almost no other area that is as innovative as the market for mobile medical applications. Today’s ideas will change tomorrow’s market.

The members of the PLRI MedAppLab are working on verifying promising approaches regarding their benefits for the medical sector, trying to identify possible problems and to refine the ideas. Beside dealing theoretically with the ethical and legal aspects of using mobile devices and the accompanying applications, the multi-professional team is also actively involved in the design and development of such applications and their evaluation. During the whole process, the key focus always remains on usability questions and practical benefits for users in the medical field.
