Nahtmaterial
Chirurgisches Nahtmaterial dient als typisches Medizinprodukt zur Reparatur von Geweben. Noch immer werden die meisten Wundverschlüsse mit Nähten ausgeführt. Dabei ist die mechanische Eigenschaft der eingesetzten Materialien von größter Bedeutung, um die verlorene Festigkeit zeitweilig zu ersetzen.

Kollagen
Kollagene sind wichtige Bestandteile aller Binde- und Stützgewebe im gesamten Organismus. Da sie das natürliche Wachstumssubstrat für viele Gewebe darstellen, sind sie ein optimaler Träger für Zell- und Gewebekulturen.
Im Bereich des Tissue Engineering erweisen sich die Kollagen-Produkte von Resorba als ideale Matrix für das Wachstum und die Vermehrung schwer zu kultivierender Zellen. Damit hat die regenerative Medizin ein potentes Werkzeug, um Zellen und Gewebe heranzuzüchten und Defekte erfolgreich zu therapieren.


Dental
Nahtmaterial und Kollagene spielen seit langer Zeit in der Dentalchirurgie eine nicht wegzudenkende Rolle. Die Anforderungen an die Materialien sind vielfältig und erfordern sehr spezifische Lösungen.
So sind bei Nahtmaterialien die unterschiedlichen Fadeneigenschaften und Verarbeitungsweisen von entscheidender Bedeutung, meist in Kombination mit speziell an die Bedürfnisse der Dentalchirurgie angepassten Nadelgeometrien und Schliffarten.
Der Einsatzbereich von Kollagenen reicht von der Hämostase über die lokale Infektprophylaxe (in Kombination mit einem Antibiotikum) bis hin zur gesteuerten Geweberegeneration (GBR, GTR).

Surgical Sutures
Surgical suture material serves as a typical medical device for tissue repair. Today, most types of wound closure are still carried out with the aid of sutures. The mechanical characteristics of the materials used are of utmost importance for providing an adequate temporary substitute for the stability that has been lost.


Collagen
Collagens are important components of all connective and supportive tissues in the entire organism. They represent a natural substrate for the growth of many tissues, and are therefore an ideal matrix for cell and tissue cultures.
In the field of tissue engineering it has been demonstrated that RESORBA's collagen products are the best possible matrix for the growth and proliferation of cells that are generally difficult to cultivate. For this reason regenerative medicine has gained a potent tool for the cultivation of cells and tissues, as well as for the successful treatment of defects.


Dental Surgery
Suture materials and collagens have long played an important and indispensable role in dental surgery. The demands that are placed on the materials are numerous and varied, and require very specific solutions.
Thus, the various characteristics of the threads and their processing are of crucial importance for suture materials, usually in combination with needle geometries and bevel forms, which are especially adapted to the specific needs of dental surgery.
The indications for collagens range from haemostasis to local protection against infection (in combination with an antibiotic) right up to guided bone regeneration and guided tissue regeneration (GBR, GTR).
