More about Sankt Goar International Music Festival and Academy

The impressive faculty roster of the Sankt Goar International Music Festival and Academy's ART SONG SUMMER PROGRAM includes some of the world's most distinguished artists, such as KS Francisco ARAIZA, Jennifer LARMORE, Roger VIGNOLES, Julia HAMARI, Julius DRAKE, Petra LANG, Davide DAMIANI, Mark MARKHAM, Jory VINIKOUR, Mary Ann HART, Carlos MONTANÉ, Greta BENINI and Ed BAK amongst many others.

The Sankt Goar International Festival and Academy was founded with the aim of creating an exceptional venue for the study and the promotion of classical music in general -and the art song genre in particular- in an ideally located yet remarkably peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful setting, offering world-class instruction and performance opportunities to a select number of participants, first rate facilities and an enjoyable work and study environment for both teachers and students, as well as an unforgettable listening and learning experience for the public.

The program, which will launch in the summer of 2014, is tailored to tend to the individual needs of an extremely select group of 9 singers and 3 pianists for each one of the three sessions that the program offers, and which focus on:

I. German Lied and French mélodie;
II. German Lied and Italian and Spanish art song;
III. German Lied and British and American art song.

The venue for the academy is a beautiful1892 Gründerzeit villa on the bank of the Rhine river in the stunning town of Sankt Goar, Germany, a stone's throw away from the emblematic Loreley mountain and in the heart of the so-called, UNESCO world-heritage Rhine Gorge site.

The festival's events are comprised by recitals given by members of the faculty roster of the academy, as well as by concerts by participants in the academy, in addition to a number of public master classes and other events.
