More about Studio : Ilka Theurich

-----------------------------------
about the space:

Studio : Ilka Theurich in Hannover (Germany) is the art studio, where Ilka Theurich works regularly with different materials. It is a white cube, but not a clean white cube.

The atelier:performance series was developed, to create a space for performance art without borders. The studio of Ilka Theurich opens their doors for Live Art & Performance Artists who are travelling through Germany and passing Hannover - uncomplicated, easy and spontaneously. This series is based on the idea of sharing and as a laboratory for experiments.

about the artist:

Ilka Theurich has exhibited and performed in a variety of countries and contexts. She works as a researcher, curator, consultant and teacher of a broad range of projects, including large-scale events, intimate performances, publications, and workshops.

Her work revolves around questions of the performative context of space, horizontal democracy, critical spatial practice and spatial politics. She is interested in the deployment of her social-poetical-performance-practice as a methodology in the field of critical spatial practice.

Currently, she collaboratively works and consults on conceptualising and implementing performance art based research on urban planning and architecture on all scales as well as projects that include strategic frameworks, research, curatorial approaches, and discursive activities in order to create customised approaches for each project.
