Volterion develops and manufactures Redox-Flow-Battery components and systems (5-50 kW continuous output and 10 - 500 kWh capacity) for decentralized storage of renewable energy sources (solar, wind) and decentralized energy distribution (swarm solutions) for use in residential and commercial applications but also for decentralized energy distribution (swarm solutions). We are a privately held company, spun-off from the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT (Oberhausen).

Volterion-Products are based on established Redox-Flow-Battery Technology, we use the benefits and eliminate the draw backs

- Very long life time(> 20 Years)
- Very high cycle rate (>10.000 cycles)
- Power and capacity independently scalable
- But still high manufacturing costs

We are making Redox-Flow Batteries competitive for residential storage applications by

applying a patented manufacturing process for weldable Bipolar-Graphite-Electrodes and

applying a patented design and manufacturing process for a completely weldable stack.

This leads to fully automated welding of all stack components; low manufacturing costs; significant savings on materials costs.
