since its foundation in 2002 Weingartner Architects has developed a diverse international body of work including cultural- , residential- , commercial- , leisure- and civic buildings as well as masterplanning projects. My office in Leipzig contributes to W Architects’s wide range of typologies and project locations.

W Architects design and engineering work is united by meticulous attention to the concept and the details of every project, and a relentless focus on refining the design ideas to develop a solution which is architecturally, socially, economically and intellectually good.

Starting the design process - we do not force our design on people or `parachute´ buildings on locations but rather first carefully listen, understand the needs, the site, the law, local culture & ressources and future vision of the clients. Together with our network and with the help of our extensive international experience we are dedicated to create lasting value - deeply rooted in our tradition , inspiration, a strong will and united by a exciting Design Idea we create customized environments.

The aims of our Projects are hybrid : we marry Mr. Useful with Mrs. Beautiful, Mr. Cool with Mrs. Glamorous, social space with private space, venacular with modern, simple with interesting and local with global. W Architects want to fit environments in the neighbourhood while they still stand out with wonderful Vision, Design, Quality and Sustainability. Our research & design process often results in new environments - The Arab Cultural Center Washington, The Crescent, Cocoon Living Saigon and the Eurasian Hotel are demonstrations of the practice’s quest for new life, space, light and form.

Recently W Architects has designed mixed-use and energy independent projects and consider these to be of great value for the common good . We like to merge conventional ingredients such as living, leisure, working, education, sports, entertainment, manufacturing, urban farming, mobility, health, shopping and shared space into new forms of symbiotic architecture within the civic domain. We prefer to develop and use innovative materials and technologies like contour crafting and Wooden Highrise Buildings.

We used to take belonging for granted. Cities used to be villages. Everyone knew each other, and everyone knew they had a place to call home.
